Pros

In my experience of working here, I see that the senior management does their best to maintain transparency. The overall work culture is great. They are really about the employees. I have personally seen some of the rewarding benefits of working here, Just like most other companies, we are moving towards a hybrid workplace. In my opinion, it will be a benefit for the newer employees who are not as experienced to have more seasoned employees (not necessarily with CMR but experience in the industry overall) to lean on in the office. CMR recently even went as far as offering reimbursement for travel to and from work! We have been in a remote working environment for so long it has become a comfort for many of us. Going back to the office means driving in, gas spent, time preparedness. For CMR to consider that while also implementing a hybrid workplace demonstrates their commitment and dedication to their employees. They don't have to offer that. Their expectations are high, but the salary and benefits compensation is also higher than average. Another win I have seen is how CMR takes the hire from within attitude, meaning they always look for in-house promotion opportunities versus hiring new people which I hadn't seen with my previous employer. It's not always an option but current employees are always the first considered from what I see. Whether you are looking for a start in a new career or looking to become better in the industry and really develop your knowledge, this is a great company to work for. If you are looking to do your 8 hours, it may not be the best fit for you. It's not always long hours, but there are times you will have to do a little extra because of your book, when there is a heavy time of year, and maybe to step in and help another team. That is just a standard in this industry.

Cons

Sometimes it feels like there are too many meetings; the changes we keep implementing are great, but at the same time it would be nice to use fewer systems. I know that is a long term goal for us as we have these discussions in our L10 meetings so it is not something senior management is not aware of. I also feel that sometimes we forget what it was like to start our careers and how we had so many resources around us (managers, brokers). It also sometimes feels like we forgot that before 2020 we were in the office every single day. I know there are a few who are not happy about the hybrid workplace being implemented and returning to the workplace seems unfair and we will likely lose some co-workers but considering its 2 days a week, it doesn't feel like CMR is truly demanding much. I know there are some employers out there requiring full return to the office. This isn't really a con, but we are not going to be the right fit for every single person, but those that are a fit, the long term investment is really worth it.

Pros

CMR puts employees ahead of corporate profits and it really shows by the amount of resources they deploy to not only make CMR the best place to work, but also by investing these resources into training and education to drive the very best out of everyone here.

Cons

CMR offers a hybrid working environment requiring employees to work in the office a minimum of two days per week. I would prefer if CMR would require employees to work full time in the office as I appreciate the collaboration with my fellow employees and find the experience working together even more enjoyable when everyone is here together.

Pros

CMR is a company that cares deeply about its culture and employees. Your ideas and suggestions are heard and encouraged. It is an incredibly enjoyable place to work. It is an unbelievably transparent company that shares revenue and profit margin goals with employees in real time, something I have never experienced before. It makes you feel like you have a stake in the overall success of the company.

Cons

Sometimes the workload can be heavy but that might just be the industry in general.
