Pros
Teamwork is truly phenomenal, benefits are awesome (retirement pension + 457 account), community service driven, supports local (company is City of San Antonio owned), managers/supervisors truly care for you and your team.
Cons
1) Company relies to heavily on consulting services and doesn't allow their team members to fix their issues, preventing team members from gaining experience. 2) Some HR Industry Bests practices are in place but not managed very well or at all. more like check the box implementation allowing to them to mark "Yes" for compliance or insurance purposes 3) Team member headcounts are bare minimum - sometimes not enough hours in a day for work and most team members work beyond standard 8 hr day without overtime compensation 4) Company loves back to back meetings even during lunch hours and sometimes 5pm-6pm times 5) Doesn't provide enough budget for training or developing team members 6) Some very senior leadership team members have no experience related to the departments they are running 7) Company is very reactive - meaning, they only change things or give more budget only after something goes wrong or hits local news outlets that we are not doing something.
