Pros
Coworkers are good, mostly hardworking people. Location is good. That's about all I can say.
Cons
Top management at TCC incompetent, ignorant, or a mixture of both. Company has either forced out or fired 10+ good quality workers in the past year. Company states they value employees' opinions, but when employees express factual information about needed improvements and problems, employees are labeled as "negative" and eventually forced out or fired. Company policy (stated directly from top management AND human resources representative) is that promotions come with more responsibility but not more pay. Employees are exploited for their knowledge and used to train new hires who make 10-15K more than the "senior/tenured" employee. Past employee (2010) was interviewed for management position several times, led to believe the promotion would be granted, then told that someone outside of the company was hired for the job. This "outsider" was given detailed plans for the department that were created by the "internal" employee who did not get the management job. I am not aware of one person at TCC (who has worked there at least 4 months) who is happy to be there. Former head of human resources intervened in a human resources situation between myself and manager under the guise of being helpful to me. Stated she would contact the manager regarding situation and never responded back to me. When I requested meeting with her and asked her about it, it was obvious she had never planned to follow up as she said she would - after stating that she would follow up with my manager right away, she immediately switched the subject and asked me about the possibility of teaching a Zumba class for the employees (something I had asked her about months before that she never responded to either). A few days later, I asked my manager if he had heard from this former head of HR regarding my issue and he said he had not. The lack of integrity is so unbelievable and disheartening.
