Pros
The new building is spectacular. The team of people I worked with were remarkably hard working and nice people for the exception of my direct reports. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these people.
Cons
The interview process is ridiculously extensive; almost 11 interviews in all. Then after months of extensive interviewing, I was hired only to be told almost immediately the leader below me had been offered the position, declined, changed their mind but the company had already been in contract with me at that point. Almost immediately I was being told to "not lead" as a senior leader position by my direct leader and evaluations into my "bonding with my direct reports" being the highest priority of my initial position responsibilities. From the onset, it became very clear that my direct reports were given all of the power in determining my tenure with the company which ended well before my 90 day mark after putting so much time and energy in determining I was a great fit for the company in the extensive interview processing. The company gushes about having direct, open and honest communication, but from the beginning it became clear the environment is anything but these things. It is a shame because I truly had such high hopes about working for this company, but in the end I truly was let down as I believe anyone will be working in this type of dysfunctional culture. Essentially, unless you are heavily connected with upper management (i.e. a son/daughter, cousin, good friend of the family, etc), any hopes of rising and staying at this company should not be optimistic.
