Pros
Remote work and flexible hours allowed. Online resources like Books 24/7 are nice.
Cons
Oddly immature, highly passive-aggressive, socially awkward personalities creating an unprofessional atmosphere reminscent of high school. Rather than direct feedback, managers eagerly & openly gossip and berate staff behind their backs, then contradict that when speaking to the same staff. Open hositility is common, even from senior management, and petty personality clashes dictate working relationships. Meaningful communication and direction are absent. The worst thing about CSC was the need to bill hours. Managers' prevailing attitude of "figure it out yourself," leaves employees in the dark, unsure of proper procedures; the same managers then chastise staff for coming to the wrong conclusions. Employees work in a vacuum: trying to do a good job without stable ("don't do what I say, do what I'm thinking"), clearly defined expectations. Too often people have to beg for work and are told to take personal days. Project managers seem to be surprisingly out of touch with their clients' needs. Many managers have been there for over 10 years, still bitter that CSC took over their previous company. Building is depressing! Dirty and old, but that suits this out-of-touch company location.
