Pros
Some positions can work remotely Middle management is trying to change the "military" mentality and caste system.
Cons
Caste System - No title = no knowledge philosophy Not my job, Not my fault, finger pointing, CYA environment ... makes employees less productive You must be skilled at self promotion in order to survive. Merit alone won't do it. Therefore there are people who have no trouble taking claim for work that is not theirs. Senior executives continue to manage by fear of losing your job There may be other areas outside of business development that are not like this but I haven't seen any hints that it exists. I don't have enough time to list everything except "RUN!"
