Pros

Lots of charity events

Cons

Recently under new management, who didn't agree my teams positions held any value to the company, decided to lay off half the department just before the holiday season without severance. Because in his words (in a previous meeting) "Florida is an at will state". CSI presents themselves as a big company, but they are still running as a small business. There are no training procedures, when I was hired, I got one day of training by another employee who worked there for about a year, then the rest of my training was from an employee who had only been there for a month. The people I worked with were amazing, the people above me would make sure we were aware that our opinions and concerns didn't matter. A large company, when they see a problem would start from the top down, but CSI starts from the bottom up. Even if you work hard, have a well rounded knowledge of your job, at the end of the day just based on favoritism you could get let go. There is no job security, there is a lot of stress, long hours, and lots of time you'll find yourself being berated by your supervisors. The job fluctuates a lot, some weeks it's extremely busy due to new projects starting, other weeks are agonizingly slow. And when it's slow instead of cross training them to help other departments, they start letting people go. This company, like many others, has a good outward appearance, but they don't care about their employees, they have no respect for their employee's, no matter how long they may have worked there.

Pros

Long term contracts, good pay, remote and on site work options, if on site you are able to travel home often (how often depends on the client), request time off, they pay for accomadations if you work on site.

Cons

no holiday pay unless you have a certain amount of hours accumulated, which is fair.

Pros

Good opportunity to gain first-time experience
