Pros

Interesting to learn everything about the plasmapheresis process and they are willing to teach you most jobs at the center.

Cons

It is difficult to move up if you are not part of a certain group of people. Many employees are addicted to various drugs, including alcohol, pills, and others. The pay is not very competitive for the tasks that you are obligated to complete. There is no work-life balance, and they get frustrated with students having class and require full availability for gaining employment. You are expected to complete tasks way beyond your job duties if you want to remain employed or expect to be promoted. Training is hurried and you are not educated on many everyday situations that come up on the job, making it difficult to be very effective in your position. No drug testing upon hiring, leading to many people who rely on drugs daily to be hired. You will not have regular hours, in many cases you may 12pm-10pm on Monday, and have to be back at 7am the next morning for a full shift.

Pros

I made a lot of friends there, and the employees on the floor were almost always very hard workers

Cons

The higher up in leadership you go the less you actually seem to care for the people actually doing the hardest work on the floor. The donors are often mean and impatient. And don't get kicked out if they are repeatedly an issue on the floor, because that's a loss of plasma. Many centers won't kick out anyone with veins that aren't suitable to be stuck. It's often up to the donor to walk out with two blown veins to decide not to come back.
