Pros

I wanted to bring my current view of the company here because I have seen some reviews that I don’t exactly agree with as being ‘fair’. I have been at CSOFT for a while and I have seen nothing but encouraging management, a welcoming and supportive CEO and great colleagues from all over the world to collaborate with daily. There are many great aspects to this company. Let’s start with the office culture. Coming from someone who has been part of multiple large corporate companies since graduating college, I find CSOFT has a very close in comparison culture to my favorite full-time job; a company that everyone has raved about if they have worked there. The culture is friendly, encouraging and feels like a family. Yes, like any office, the CEO is busy and doesn’t have time to interact with her employees even when she’s in the office – but to only a novice full time employee of a large corporation, this would seem strange. The CEO doesn’t micromanage and if she does, its because she owns the company and she want to make sure things are running smoothly – a given. Above all of that, she is a great boss to have run a company you are part of. She is warm and very supportive – try to learn about people before you judge negatively. Employees also may be heads down, but it is because they are hard at work. Lunches are an hour which is normal. Hours are 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM due to worldwide communication and different time zones. I find these hours to be normal and quite fair, given we work with our HQ office 12 hours ahead in time. Next, Benefits! Since being here I have been promoted with a pay raise. There are great opportunities to grow but only if you work hard and show you are trying to be the best you can be – because who really thinks companies will keep a slacker? There was talk about a 401K but also hasn’t been fully implemented because setting that up for a company of a certain size takes time. – Patience is a virtue. If you cannot wait for a 401K, I recommend opening up an IRA in its place…. Be independent and proactive, not dependent and reactive! ? During the hiring process, they ask about commute time, where you are coming from and if it will work for you long term. They will not hold an adult’s hand after you make a decision. The decision is yours to be on-boarded with or without a commute. They do not force you to. Parking, Yes, it would be great if they paid for parking, but also when being on-boarded, they send you commuter benefits to sign up for discount commuting… if you get hired, please ask HR for this and do some research for your transportation. Being hired into the Boston office specifically is a little different than other offices. We are treating this office as a startup, as we are brand new to the city. There will be wrinkles that need to be ironed out. This brings me to my next point… HR. HR has done a great job helping our Boston office take off, and had abide by the rules and laws. We are looking to grow our company, including our HR team for the U.S. In closing, the complains I have been minimal but bear with the company as we are still trying to become organized in our new office!

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

Outside of "emergencies", I had decent work-life balance as a remote employee. Immediate team members were great.

Cons

Other reviews will say the same - upper management is wild. I had a decent time at this company only so long as I fell under the radar, but you'll have to interact eventually. Leadership plays favorites. There are a few employees who have been there for ages. Anyone can come under fire at any time, and if you're not a favorite you might be "laid off."
