Pros
Pro Deals through 3point-Five, Lots of nice and/or interesting people, both customers and coworkers. The store management team was very good, particularly when you consider the lack of support they get from the corporate offices.
Cons
I'm a former mid-level manager from another industry and my part time position at Cabela's was my "retirement job", here are a couple of my professional observations about the company: I have never seen a company as micro managed from the corporate level as Cabela's. At times it seemed that store management would have to call "Corporate" for permission to use the bathroom. Even the store employee work schedule is generated by "Corporate". There have been -two- corporate/retail "reorganizations in the past two years, resulting in the elimination of -numerous- management and retail associate positions. (which in turn caused a -significant- drop in an associates ability to provide customer service) NOT the sign of a stable and well managed company. Club Card - Club Card - Club Card. They will drive you out of your MIND with selling credit cards. I would hesitate to recommend Cabela's as a part time employer and I would hands down not recommend them to anyone looking for a management career in retail.
