Pros

eMAR (Point-Click-Care.) Otherwise, none. The worst place I've ever worked. New nurses ESPECIALLY should avoid.

Cons

Minimal training. You're promised two weeks, but preceptors are so overwhelmed with their INSANELY high nurse/patient ratio that you're not trained, you spend two weeks running errands to help the nurse on the cart out of the weeds. As a brand new nurse, I was told to jump in immediately with skills I'd never practiced outside the lab in school. There is no time to double check your meds, your insulin draws, your breathing treatments, or to practice good sterile technique. Thirty-six patients -- GO! And you're allowed no overtime whatsoever, nor are you allowed to work through lunch, so there's at least two treatment hours shaved off your shift (allowing one hour for documentation, shift change, communicating with family and providers, incident reports.) There's certainly no time to support your CNAs who are so understaffed that they're operating hoyer lifts solo -- they have no choice! There's no one to help them. The lack of support is utterly demoralizing, the environment is dangerous to the patients. I don't know a single nurse that's not worked at -- and quit -- Cadia Silverside. It's a nightmare.

Pros

Management was willing to work with me to make my own schedule.

Cons

Short-staffed a lot, will only keep as many CNAs as legally required, will send people home early if census is low.
