Pros

The health, dental, and vision benefits are amazing along with sick/vacation time. You really are the first line of communication when it comes to residents and you really get to build your network. Also, a great place to discover what policy you are passionate about.

Cons

Unless someone decides to quit, you will not be able to see a promotion or a drastic increase in pay. We work a lot of weekends and evenings without overtime.

Cons

No cons, if public service and front-facing roles is something you truly enjoy then this is the right place for you.

Pros

Good health care and dental benefits. Great job security. Work culture is dependent on which office/ team you’re in.

Cons

Hard to obtain raises and title changes. Not great growth trajectory, at least in the short term. Lots of work after 5 pm and on the weekends.
