Pros

probably the best medical benefits in the states. The nature of the state legislature is there are a few months ou tof the year from September through december and during the summer you're doing almost nothing.

Cons

Can be so toxic. they tell you up front there might be a few days out of the year where you will be there til 7-10pm because the legislature is in session trying to apss bills. Every office republican or democrat is its own respective office. The office I was in was so toxic to this day I have no clue how the chief of staff is still employed. The caucus chief knows how many complaints were filed agains the COS but the person is still there. I make this post because NOT every office is like this, but SOME are. working int he building (the capitol) to get experience on bills so that way you can go t the third house (lobbying) and get paid 3 x's more.

Pros

You will work under and shadow amazing staff that truly care for the constituents in the district.

Cons

No cons, if public service and front-facing roles is something you truly enjoy then this is the right place for you.

Pros

Good health care and dental benefits. Great job security. Work culture is dependent on which office/ team you’re in.

Cons

Hard to obtain raises and title changes. Not great growth trajectory, at least in the short term. Lots of work after 5 pm and on the weekends.
