Pros
-Interesting contract opportunities with great companies. I'm able to work with lots of smart people on interesting, cutting-edge projects -The company has been good about checking in on me during my contract and making sure I'm set up with everything I need -Very smooth onboarding process -Excellent, affordable healthcare plan
Cons
-Pay is lower than average (in fact, as a contractor at Microsoft I make significantly less than a full-time employee would in the same role without the benefits, which is quite disappointing) -Pay "bait and switch" from recruiter - I signed off on a certain rate when we first started discussing the position, but when the offered me the job, they tried to get me agree to a lower rate insisting that the project budget had suddenly changed. Very scummy tactic in my opinion -Only 2 weeks of PTO. Better than some contracting companies but still not very good
