Pros
-level 2 trauma center with critical cases making for excellent skills to learn and recoveries to see. -Doctor's conduct many tests and have access to the latest technology. Overall good life-saving care here but not a pleasant environment to work in.
Cons
-never enough staff and the staff that is there sometimes hides to escape the burden load of the floor. -managers do not listen to you or do anything to help. -being expected to be a charge RN with a full 6 patient assignment, no secretary and maybe no patient care tech on the floor. -everyone is angry and stressed out. -ancillary staff are sometimes taken away from you due to low staffing so you have no help. -every department depends on the RN to communicate with the rest of the interdisciplinary team and it puts extra burden on the nurse.
