No WFH (management will offer in an interview but won't deliver), Lots of legacy code, nearly all of which has a bus factor of 1.

Thank you for your honest feedback. Sorry to hear about the misalignment on our WFH policy. We have recently updated this policy based on employee feedback; which we hope coupled with our general schedule flexibility allows for healthy work / life balance. We will continue to listen to our employees and assess as our company grows. I also respect your concern about legacy code. As all companies that grow fast, we will always have areas of the code base that need to be refactored or removed. We are constantly taking steps to ensure legacy code does not become a drag on system stability or our ability to roll out products and features. I’d be happy to have an open and honest conversation and hear more about your experiences at CarGurus. Feel free to reach out or stop by my office. - Kyle
Awesome benefits and perks. Great office environment and makes you want to come to the office. Compensation plan is solid with high income opportunity.
Cons
This opportunity requires a strong commitment. Standard work hours do not always apply based on the customer base
Nice office environment with free food and drinks available. The gym and company perks are a nice bonus. There are also some genuinely good people on the team who make the workplace more enjoyable.
Cons
Management can feel overly political, and some managers appear to give more attention and opportunities to favorites rather than treating employees consistently. While the company talks about supporting mental health, the day-to-day culture does not always reflect that message. There is also growing uncertainty about long-term job stability as AI becomes more integrated into the work.
