Pros

Recent unionization among L1 employees makes me, somewhat* hopeful (see cons) about improved labor conditions and treatment by upper management.

Cons

Overall Card Kingdom Inc. has only become a worse place to work since I last reviewed them on this platform. My experience with the company was one of constant and steady deterioration of all aspects of the business. Internal communication at the company was one of the biggest flaws among employees surveyed back when I was first hired in 2017. It's something that would get brought up year after year during feedback sessions. Unfortunately in 6 years management has largely chosen to ignore problem in the best case and at worst, actively reduce quantity and quality of communication with their L1 employees. Management's long term treatment of what has been admitted to be one of the most critical issues at the company is exemplary of their attitude towards their company and workers. It inspires a severe lack of confidence in their ability to operate a business in general. The owners of the business conform to the "tech bro" stereotype, constantly chasing fads and trying to reinvent the wheel rather than focusing on core issues the company has had for a long time. Contrary to statements made to the public, upper management is extremely resentful of their employees choosing to unionize and have chosen to make the transition to a unionized workspace difficult. While not as anti-union as other companies in the industry (they care a lot about their reputation as a progressive company) they went out of their way to drag out the contract negotiation process and strip existing benefits from their employees (such as 401k matching). They also became increasingly uncommunicative with their workforce post-unionization. Finally, repetition strain injuries remain rampant at the company. With people constantly needing to go on medical leave and fight with HR accommodations benefits. From accounts I've heard it's at least as bad as what amazon workers experience in their warehouses.

Pros

Loved the leadership I directly worked under, I'd take a bullet for em. But the actual higher ups, eeehhh...

Cons

Company has changed a lot since I first started and with those changes came a sh*****r work environment. Wish I still worked there though. Had to leave when they left for a new facility out of Seattle. Also their union sucked @ss.

Pros

Most of my coworkers were great Pretty good benefits

Cons

Upper management are habitual line pushers with the union, often a new rule would crop up if they found a loophole in the contract to punish employees Rules changed often and it was also common to hear contradictory info as management often pushed these rules last minute on supervisors to inform teams Constant overtime due to constant MTG set releases If you miss a day of work, you are not eligible for overtime pay that week, which leads the company to ask for overtime for holidays using the excuse of downtime in order to work the workers more without having to pay them fairly Lowest retention rate I've ever seen at a company, I worked there for 1 year and 11 months and my team fully rotated almost 4 times Upper management is blatantly anti-union to a frankly cartoonish degree
