Pros
1. 24/48hr schedule 2. Health Benefits are cheaper for 2023 (Me& One Child) runs me $400 a month with a PPO plan. 3. Flexible shift swap, Requesting Off is fairly easy. (Most Flexible job I’ve had) 4. School Reimbursement after proof of Completion 5. Room for advancement in IFT Supervision, Critical Care, or Flight. 6. Schedule your on call days in advance. 7. FTO pay is $200 a month.
Cons
1. Mandatory two on calls a month 2. Pay Raises are 2% to 4% max a year depending on your review board 3. Starting pay for EMT is low for the cost of living in the DFW Area ($14 to $22) 4. Not Guaranteed a 24/48hr shift. 5. Some Favoritism and inconsistency in some areas such as requesting on becoming a FTO, Pay Raise, and Switching from IFT to 911 or getting cleared 911 to pick up a shift.
