Good experience, but terrible pay if you're a chemical engineer compared to other industries. - Project Engineer Cargill Employee Review

Pros

Strong ethics, good teamwork, easy to see results, visible management team, private ownership allows longer term thinking, hard to get fired.

Cons

Pay only benchmarked to food industry, not chemical industry; very regimented raises and pay bands, if hired from outside at "above market" (Cargill pays below market) you won't see a raise for a couple of years at least. You also MUST be willing to move around/relocate to advance or be safe if a plant is shut down.
