Pros
The people are the reason I have even stayed this long; very FUN place to be (like working with your friends), a lot of passion, some very smart people, catered lunches (those these have gotten smaller), close to the beach (though huge workloads, so we barely get to see it), snacks, beer in the office = typical start-up "perks" (these are not BENEFITS, these are perks)
Cons
Where to begin? 1 50% of company laid off, some really good people who should not have gotten cut 2 No clear org structure, so it's hard to know who truly answers to who... truly one of the most POLITICAL companies I have ever worked at 3 A lot of favorites, you better hope you brown nose the right people 4 Overinflated job titles for some (who don't do any work) /underinflated job titles for others (who do the lion's share of the work) 5 Poor management who does not understand the industry 6 Compensation is worse than market (benefits are not so great too) 7 Equity is a joke, it basically amounts to nothing 8 No career path... It's a joke, we don't even have an HR department 9 All things considered, still long hours and a lot of overworked people 10 Very manual work, we basically don't have any actual systems at all (our "IT Department" has been a running joke: *Did you restart your computer?) I could go on and on, but just do yourself a favor and don't even look at joining us here
