Pros

Good company to work for if you need to gain experience, or are young and want to build a long career. A lot of people here have been with the company 10+ years and have built meaningful lives for themselves and their families.

Cons

With so many people having worked only at this company for their entire careers, they are resistant to change. A lot of outdated systems. Pay is comparatively low, at least in the department I was in, and the workload is heavy so you are expected to work overtime. Leaves very little time for any kind of life outside of work.

Pros

CHL actually cares about the employees. Most jobs you feel like just a number but here they truly care about you as a person and want you to succeed.

Cons

There is a lot of information to learn during onboarding, so it can feel overwhelming at first.

Pros

company vehicle that you take home, so essentially commuting costs you nothing but time. excessive amount of freedom to choose with your vehicle... many coworkers abused this freedom pretty blatantly.

Cons

pay structure is not good, they call it "hourly" and you will have to document every 6 minutes of your day in order to get paid. your success is driven by the team you get placed on. if you have a slack team, or you dont mesh well with someone - it will impact you more than it should. management is all about "the numbers", they'll tell you "not to worry about the numbers" until its review time, then you find out you really should have been worrying about "the numbers" because your judged heavily by, and ability to make more money relies on it... not such a problem if you weren't being told one thing then another. very hard to have work life balance. you're expected to be at work 10 hours a day mon-fri. if you have a .5-1hr of commute, you're out 12hrs of your day, humans should sleep aprox 8hrs, you dont need me to do the math, but that is 4hrs of personal time per day. Great if your wife and kids already hate you, as well a great way to get your wife and kids to hate you. they put you in "on-call" status multiple times a year, and the expectation for it is absolutely ridiculous. meaning you still work your normally scheduled +10hr shift. you go home, you must keep your phone on you and take the call if it comes in. doesn't matter if it's 6pm, or 2 am and you're sleeping, if you don't answer, you will get fired for it. totally unfair, especially if you're the unfortunate soul on a team on call for amazon. you will get the call, and you will be completely exhausted afterwards.
