Pros
Good people worked there. Fun working with children's clothing. Fun helping new parents, or about to be new parents, find what they need. Bright attractive new marketing. Managers who really try and work hard. Growing and opening new stores. Good place for kids after school, or people who need a second part time job but don't really have to count on it as their income.
Cons
1. No technology. They don't even have hand scanners and you have to take every item to the register, then do three key strokes just to find out the price. Try doing that with 16 pages of price changes! 2. Marketing, floor sets, and price changes come down every week, if not more often. Having to move every rack on the floor and change half the walls every week is kind of backward. It not only makes a huge work load for the employee, but confuses the customers! 3. Upper management doesn't seam to communicate very well with store management. We get confusing directions. The store is supposed to be merchandised perfectly and clean, but they won't let you do any work while the store is open. Then, you have to be out an hour after you close. When exactly are we supposed to put the clothes out and do all of the changes that come down every week? 4. Employees only get scheduled 8-12 hours a week, even though when the interview you they say you could get 24 hours a week. It is pretty hard to even really learn your job or get anything done, since you can't work on "tasks" while the store is open. Support managers are part time too. Then only ones that are full time are Assistants and Store Managers. We were supposed to have 2 support managers and two assistant managers along with the store manager. We never had all of those and half the time had to send people over to Oshkosh to help too. 5. They tell you how they are growing and opening new stores. That they want ambitious people who want to be Store managers, but when it comes down to it they pay minimum wage, and at 12 hours a week you can't make enough to stay there long enough to get a promotion.
