The only thing I learned from Cascades is that the “values” they speak so highly of are entirely inconsistent with their actions. They failed to address a situation in which an employee was openly belittled and harassed, and despite the seriousness of the behaviour, Cascades chose not to take meaningful action.
The individual responsible was allowed to continue working, while the victim was unable to return. Rather than taking responsibility, the company has effectively distanced itself from the situation.
It’s disappointing to see an organization promote core values that, in practice, appear to be nothing more than words.
