Pros
Great work location. Office Supply is always sufficient. Desks are easy to access to and communicate.
Cons
Top local manager does not respect his subordinates and treats employees as inferior class of people. He frequently uses inappropriate language towards company employees which hurt people's feeling so much that multiple employees even burst out of tears in public with such insult. This results in low morale across office and more importantly, such behavior likely posts the risk to the company from the litigation by unfairly treated employees. To his belief, ‘Productivity’ is not that important since he does not show gratitude towards employees who devotes long/extra hours to support global trading activities. ‘Sitting in front of your PC’ is more important since he spent lot of time checking on employees’ punching in&outs. He asks employee to stay 10 hours or more working despite this is against local labor law. Such action is also introducing labor litigation risk to the company. Manager intends to instruct traders with their business whereas he has little knowledge towards trading. His questions often leave traders speechless not because those are profound and considerate, but ridiculous and self-contradictory. He regards completion of his work on top of making traders cannot answer his questions, not growing China business. Despite of providing a platform for employees to learn and grow he fires multiple employees over passion and personal favor. Profit continues being pulled out of projects/trading activities due to his inaction and unwillingness of taking responsibilities/risks towards China business. Employees who are initially filled with dedication and passion were worn by low morale and lack of upper support. China business bleeds out and dries up during his oversee. Empty rate is over 80%. Such fall of business and low-rate reviews from employee have obtained China office the ‘talent black hole’ reputation among headhunters and candidates for hire.
