Pros
Laid back Not very stressful-unless it’s the holidays. Have met some good friends at this job
Cons
VERY low pay-no opportunities for pay raises or promotions. I have worked for the company for 2+ years and don’t even think I have received $1 raise. When wanting to switch from cashier to sales so that I can make more money I was told that I “know too much about being a cashier to switch to sales.” You cannot keep someone from moving up in the company because they are “too good at what they do.” It seems as if they are just taking advantage of the hard work I am willing to give them and I never get anything in return(aka a promotion/switch to sales.) Most of the assistant managers seem to be very entitled and expect to be treated with the utmost respect when often times they treat their employees like trash. You cannot expect your employees to have respect for you when you sit in the office watching Netflix then yell at them when you go on the floor and they’re not doing your job for you!! Any time I request a day off management acts as if it’s the end of the world and try to make me feel bad about needing a day off. This also goes for leaving when you’re scheduled to leave. They try to make you feel bad for not staying late and working more to help them out. It gets very tiring at times. If you are not upper management you probably don’t mean anything to anyone and there is clearly a lot of favoritism shown throughout every branch of the company whether it’s a store manager, DM, or someone from corporate.
