Pros

Amazing people to work with (so smart and collaborative); the product is really interesting; lots of autonomy (minimal micromanaging); able to get exposure to many different roles, types of work, and accounts; you get the opportunity to present to VP level & C-suite executives at major corporations (which I didn't have during my consulting days)

Cons

Pay started off great, but it hasn't progressed or increased like I had hoped over the time I've been with the company; the VE role is a combination of pre-sales, post-sales, and account/project management - with a sprinkling of technical & coding skills (similar to SQL) thrown in. The breadth of this role is something that's difficult for one person to be able to do 100% well.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your insights! It's fantastic to hear that you've found Celonis to be a positive place to work with talented and collaborative colleagues, an interesting industry-leading product, and great autonomy and flexibility in your role. We strive to provide our people with meaningful projects and ample opportunities for growth, such as presenting to C-suite executives, and we're glad to hear that this is being reflected in your experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding compensation progression and the complexity of the Value Engineer role. Unlike other software companies, Celonis does not separate between Pre- and Post-Sales but is putting the Customer front and center in our mission and has one central team - Value Engineering - that owns the end-to-end Customer Value Lifecycle. We understand that not every value engineer will possess all the skills initially, but we’re building a team of Celonauts with diverse backgrounds that can support each other in delivering value to our customers. Furthermore, our learning and development programs are designed to develop your skills as a well-rounded Value Engineer over time. We appreciate your concerns over compensation. Celonis reviews its compensation ranges on a regular basis using market research against peer companies, in order to determine the appropriate compensation at all job levels and in all functions. Thank you for your contributions! We look forward to continuing our journey together. Team Celonis

Pros

Unlimited PTO and smart people, who unfortunately are leaving.

Cons

Sales and technical teams are not always set up to succeed together, which creates unnecessary pressure on technical teams and contributes to burnout. There is a strong focus on growth, but employee retention does not receive the same attention. Compensation is not always competitive, and career advancement processes can feel inconsistent depending on the opportunities available to you. All approvals run up to founder level.
