A little disorganized and slightly micromanaged. - Pharmacy Technician Centene Employee Review

Pros

Fully remote. Proper use of Teams and Outlook (I've seen companies send emails to everyone in the network, so you're getting a constant stream of essentially spam emails). You will be provided with company equipment. Two 15-minute paid breaks, and a one-hour lunch break. Nice employees, friendly faces.

Cons

You are expected to accept or reject an offer in one business day. The company has acquired multiple other businesses through acquisitions and mergers, and has NOT consolidated the databases, you will be flipping back and forth in several different customer databases. You will be multi-apping with a count of 5+ apps a day. Even a power user like myself finds this annoying and unnecessary. This company has way too much tech debt. The initial training is a little disorganized. Also, the UI for the main apps you'll use is egregious and requires constant shuffling and clicking around. This is not much better than what you might have experienced at Walgreens or CVS. You are chained to your desk for the most part. You do not get to choose when you go on break for the most part. You will be making phone calls back to back to back. You will be on a monitored company computer and not your own through a company portal so don't expect to get extra outside work done between calls or using your preferred applications. Lastly, EVERYTHING requires a ticket. The company is rife with IT issues. You will be training before you can even have access to all of the member databases or have access to see all member claims in some cases.

Pros

I loved the work and for 6 years was happy with what I did. I knew I made a difference and did my job well. Not many has the same skill set I did and there was always work to do.

Cons

1. It's an old white boys club. I say that as a white individual. It sucks that's how MFN rolls. They say they value diversity but they don't. They will have a token diverse person in an exec role but they're there to be a face, not make any changes or impact. 2. They pay really well but that hurts when you leave. 3. They layoff the good people and keep the undereducated white males. Why? See #1 above. 4. They don't want you if you are female and over 40. Think I'm lying? See the number of females 40+ who got hit in the January "reorganization." 5. HR is a joke. Talent acquisition couldn't find their rear ends with both hands and a map. So many excuses on why they didn't do their jobs. 6. MFN said the HealthNet employees needed to learn the Centene way and the Centene way would prevail. He lied. 7. They never entertained the idea of working from home. At all. Even a 25% WFH option would cut costs and improve morale.
