Pros

The best part about the job is the patients. Pay is above average for the area.

What you are told in your interview is NOT how it will be. This company is the embodiment of nepotism. It seems as if policies change dependent upon which staff member is affected by it. You are given generous time off, but new policy states that if you don't use it before December 31st, you are automatically paid out at 50 cents on the dollar. Policy is to request PTO at least 2 weeks ahead but when you submit a request it gets denied or you are told that you need to work extended hours and see more patients to make up for it prior to being off.... I thought the point of PTO was that you didn't have to work extra hours... you just get the PTO. RN to pt ratio is extremely high despite numerous promises that it will go the opposite direction. Case managers are asked to do admissions, even though there is an "Admission nurse". On call is required, even for nurses who have already worked 40-50 hour weeks, even though we have "On Call" nurses whose ONLY job is to work on call. There is absolutely no work/ home balance. You are on the job even on your days off, receiving calls/ emails/ texts repeatedly. No 401K match. Health benefits are unaffordable. If you are looking for burn out, look no further, turn over couldn't be higher.

Pros

Pay and benefits were great

Cons

The company as a whole, the constant restructuring in dramatic proportions, the changing of the senior leadership people, the shifting to different technologies that costs multiple billions of dollars to shift, the politics, the acquisitions when they don't have it all together. culture applies to favorites. there are amazing and great people on the team and then there are terrible human beings.
