Pros

Great Co - workers. Local level excellent when not ham strung by new management

Cons

Since buy out by Kindred. The focus on taking anything that was good for the employee pay wise which was competitive but not stellar is now draining away. The 401 k which was a match like everywhere I have ever worked allow you to build your fund a little is now a annual matching if you complete your year. So it looks like they keep the earnings on the fund through the year and you get a lump sum match at the end of the year..with out the interest you could have earned of course. They are also pushing Nurses into salaried positions in which the staff will obviously be the loser. More work for less pay. And they do not want to compensate you for more time worked even at their benefit. Gentiva was purchased(merger) last year by Kindred and the new company demonstrates levels of inefficiencies I have never seen before in a corporation. All departments seem to be at a loss to answer the most trivial questions as it relates to their area and have not merged effectively. They have yet to lay out the basic change in a concise, clear and professional format as to be understood by all. Within the local management level they have even voiced frustration with the inability for any type of decisive decision making above their level.

Pros

Pay and benefits were great

Cons

The company as a whole, the constant restructuring in dramatic proportions, the changing of the senior leadership people, the shifting to different technologies that costs multiple billions of dollars to shift, the politics, the acquisitions when they don't have it all together. culture applies to favorites. there are amazing and great people on the team and then there are terrible human beings.
