Pros

Set hours, OT, three shifts

Cons

In the beginning I was extremely satisfied with my job description, I finally felt like I had a purpose in life. We assemble and operate a machine with a team to achieve a hourly/daily goal building COVID-19 test cartridges. A few months in I got chosen by a different supervisor with an opportunity to start a pass down procedure before u start your shift. working closely with safety champions we developed a list to discuss with the team u are working with about reasons machine is down, the dangers to watch out for on the floor, do ergo stretches, identify correct lifting techniques, also show new associates what to do in case evacuation etc.etc. I was getting noticed by other department supervisors/leads/associates except my own supervisor. Slowly it started to go downhill as I was being targeted for the slightest mistake being new while seniors that been there longer didn't face any performance check. There is no seniority like I expected. The associates that been there longer did the least amount of work while the new workers did the grunt work running around and if there was an issue like placing wrong material then the new worker would be to blame for the fact that they don't teach you correctly or willing to take a min or two to explain how to and why. I had supporters and some appreciated me for the most part until I started to open my eyes and realized mostly Asian decent, Filipino and Vietnamese. I have nothing against them, I actually I have friends of both, but this work place is separated like gangs. Each race clicks with their own at the start of shift, at each break, and after work is done they huddle together ignoring social distancing on campus. They group up and talk bad about the ones who don't have a group and are just there to try to work. I've seen them watch who they want to target and would get the supervisor go against that individual. I have associates that I became close with, tell me when they are talking bad about someone in their own language ( Tagalog and Vietnamese) while in our presence. In all my workforce never have i ever been asked by my leads if I trust the people around me and that's when I knew that I was definitely being targeted next. something was being said about me. I was told by some close associates to be careful and watch out. Slowly felt like I didn't belong there anymore. I was being excluded more and more. My supervisor and new supervisor weren't helping me succeed. They would tell you these great things which was quip pro quo by offering u a bonus if u got the goal number up, and that you can become a support or lead if u did this or that. I didn't feel energetic anymore. goals were not being met at either machine stations throughout the production. No new information was taught. it seemed like I was caught between a rock and a hard place cause neither supervisor was pleased with anything I did so instead they changed me to a different department with half day notice. Before your contract expires your supervisor notify that he or she is converting you. If u don't hear anything after the year then assume ur not permanent and look for another job. As for bonuses I received certificate of award for safety and production but I never got a link to cash out my bonus
