Pros

Diminishing positive points since split with Nuance. The executive team has constantly achieved the predictions that they have set with the market. Cerence is the dominant player and outlook should remain positive for some years.

Cons

Senior management’s focus on short-term revenue is reducing opportunity to create novel or even quality solutions for customers. Although Cerence promotes staff to create a product company, sales and management continues to act as a consultancy. Exceptional staff members departing in droves. There is no way to develop a career at Cerence. Management dismisses serious project forecasts.

Cerence spun off from Nuance in October 2019. Change was inevitable but thankfully we have had great success. We recently announced exciting leadership changes at Cerence (December '22) and continually launch market-leading innovations for mobility AI. We've also implemented a number of internal training and engagement initiatives focused on the development of our employees. We're getting better everyday and believe the best is yet to come. Thanks so much for your review!

Pros

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Cerence. I learned a lot, grew significantly, and met many great people from around the world.

Cons

The number of reorganizations and layoffs took a huge toll on the company culture and morale. The company's vision and strategy was hard to pin down as well, which made my job more challenging in a less than ideal way. It was also frustrating that the tuition reimbursement advertised upon signing was actually dependent on department budgets and discretion, so I never had the chance to use it.
