Pros

Good mission - to prevent or cure all diseases in the next 100 years Full 401k match Daily lunch catering Flexible WFH policy Paid parking Great benefits: learning & development stipend, bereavement, parental leave, etc. Great name on your resume

Cons

Highly toxic environment. Like many, I was drawn to the organization for their mission to impact the world, but quickly learned this is not a good place to be. Don’t say you haven’t been warned. Everyone at the company seems dead inside and there’s no culture here because everyone is too afraid to be themselves. Management openly talks bad about other employees. Constant reorgs and firing. Unending bureaucracy. If you enjoy 24/7 politics and watching your back with every move you make, this could be the place for you! It’s too bad because there are a lot of highly accomplished, intelligent people at the company and there’s potential if the environment wasn’t so terrible.

We are sorry to hear this has been your experience. The environment that you have described does not represent the environment CZI is building and the principles we work to amplify throughout the organization. We have rolled out leader and employee training tools to help us all develop better leadership skills, and w3e are committed to building a strong organization through continued training. I encourage you to connect with your People Business Partner to speak to your personal experience so that we can strive to improve in meaningful ways. As always, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Pros

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a meaningful chapter of my career. Intelligent, mission-driven, low-ego colleagues, inspiring work, and many opportunities to learn and grow. It’s also one of the few places I’ve worked where you don’t have to trade off between enjoying the work, good compensation, and a healthy work-life balance. Even having been impacted by layoffs, I remain very grateful for the experience.

Cons

Increase volatility in recent years with restructuring. Hopefully things settle with clearer strategic direction in place.

Pros

Lots of smart people to work with and learn from. Onsite office is great.

Cons

Leadership and middle management will do anything to make themselves look good to c-levels , will go as far as taking credit for work not done by them. Every 3-4 months for years and prior to me working there, org goals change at a dime with no heads up and expectations are to perform excellently.
