Pros

I'm starting my 6th year with this organization. Wow! I'll be honest, I didn't know if I'd make it through that first 12 months. I kept telling myself "stick it out, there's something really special here and it's worth how quick and crazy and frustrating this place can get." That "something special" runs pretty deep in our culture, and it's a genuine love to do the best we can for Seniors who really need it. And really deserve it. I love that about who we are as a company. And I especially love that we get to take a broken, frustrating experience and make it great for people who deserve it. I love our patients' reactions when we surpass their expectations and make them feel good coming to the doctor.

Cons

Over the years we've sacrificed in certain areas to be able to grow and build out the organization. One of the prices we've paid came at the cost of our people. We didn't focus enough on the people who deliver the model of care every day. It's great to see that beginning to happen more and more. The new Chief Human Resources Officer is a great addition to our executive leadership team.

Pros

Benefits Pay Co-workers Patients That’s all

Cons

Micromanagement at its finest. Providers don’t have the authority to do what is best for patients. I have worked in prisons and it is easier to get patients care they need there than it is working for Chenmed. They have you recite this saying every morning. Something about how their goal is to give their patients “more good days.” It’s all a load of crap. Their goal is to give the CEO and the Chen family more money and more good days. They think you can see these complex patients in 5 minutes. “Just have them come back every day,” they say as if that’s not taxing for an elderly person. Just stay away from this place and keep your loved ones away too.
