Pros

They pay well initially and are expanding the business.

Cons

Just in...ChenMed is offering all employees who post a positive review on Glassdoor under #lovewhatyoudo a chance to win a trip to Miami for you and a guest and lunch with the CEO. It's interesting to see that a company is manipulating their Review scores with internal inducements that one can win a prize by ONLY posting positive reviews when their star ratings have been so low for a long time.

Dear Anonymous Miami Employee: Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts. You’re right, we are encouraging employees to post Glassdoor reviews with the #lovewhatyoudo. There are a lot of people throughout the organization who love what they do and are working hard to help us become America’s leading primary care provider, transforming care for the neediest populations. They’re also willing to share their feelings about ChenMed with other talented, passionate professionals who can help us achieve our goals. Many organizations talk about employees being their “greatest asset.” At ChenMed our people really are, and we are proud to let them contribute to the growth of the company in areas beyond their job functions. And let’s face it – no matter how often people have the opportunity to provide a review – whether it’s for an Uber driver, restaurant service, or technical support – very few of people do. Offering incentives for people to share their true feelings doesn’t impact or manipulate the actual review. The contest just motivates them to post something -- like it motivated you to post your thoughts. And by the way, we will include everyone in the drawing who provides feedback, good or bad, as long as they identify themselves -- first name, first initial of last name, location or COE, and #lovewhatyoudo. We believe employee engagement is a good thing – whether we agree with the feedback or not. We are continuously looking for ways to make ChenMed a better place to work – and that means acknowledging our weaknesses and identifying improvement opportunities. If you have specific feedback I would encourage you to write internal.communications@chenmed.com. Your feedback will remain anonymous and your concerns will be taken seriously.

Thank you for the 5-star review and for helping us bring more good days to our patients. We appreciate your feedback regarding center metrics. Each community presents unique circumstances, and we appreciate your recognition that success is still achievable when we support each other.

Pros

Benefits Pay Co-workers Patients That’s all

Cons

Micromanagement at its finest. Providers don’t have the authority to do what is best for patients. I have worked in prisons and it is easier to get patients care they need there than it is working for Chenmed. They have you recite this saying every morning. Something about how their goal is to give their patients “more good days.” It’s all a load of crap. Their goal is to give the CEO and the Chen family more money and more good days. They think you can see these complex patients in 5 minutes. “Just have them come back every day,” they say as if that’s not taxing for an elderly person. Just stay away from this place and keep your loved ones away too.
