Pros

Salary + Benefits + Relationships you will make with colleagues and in other regions.

Cons

I've recently heard that the Chen's are no longer in charge! If true, that's a great thing, depending on who is now in charge and if they are completely disconnected from any Chen family influence. Under the Chen's, favoritism was written all over this company, especially given the allegiance to MDs. Albeit, the Chen's (Father/Founder, Sons, and Daughter-in-law) are all MD's, but this created blinders for them. I have nothing against MDs, but several MDs that ChenMed/Dedicated had in CMD roles were not qualified as Leaders. Being a retired Army Officer (20-yrs Army) and joining this company, and serving as a CD (promoted from CDIT after 5 months in CDIT role), my CMD was given favorable pardons, if you will, for being unethical and toxic. I gave every attempt to develop my CMD into being a Leader and demonstrating high leadership attributes, but the CMD responded with "she is a MD and doesn't need my suggestions", while the team at the Center feared her, as they seen her behavior before my accession and while I was in role. When I blew the whistle, again because my foundational leadership is from the professional fibers of the U.S. military, I was suddenly terminated 4 months after being promoted to CD, I was highlighted throughout the company during my promotion, and without a single PIP or any negative documentation in my file with ChenMed, the company chose the MD (stakeholder) who was beyond toxic in leadership. As a black man, this was my experience with ChenMed. New leadership, not being the Chen's (if true) could be different, & I've heard from former colleagues who went from Dedicated to Jencare state that the new leadership under Jencare was/is so much better & that they are happier.

Pros

Benefits Pay Co-workers Patients That’s all

Cons

Micromanagement at its finest. Providers don’t have the authority to do what is best for patients. I have worked in prisons and it is easier to get patients care they need there than it is working for Chenmed. They have you recite this saying every morning. Something about how their goal is to give their patients “more good days.” It’s all a load of crap. Their goal is to give the CEO and the Chen family more money and more good days. They think you can see these complex patients in 5 minutes. “Just have them come back every day,” they say as if that’s not taxing for an elderly person. Just stay away from this place and keep your loved ones away too.
