Pros

The only pro in regard to working at Chewy is the schedule flexibility. That’s it, nothing more.

Cons

I would never recommend anyone looking for a job to apply at Chewy. They make it sound great, but when you actually work there day in and day out, it’s terrible. The management is terrible. Really, really bad. Communication is terrible. Something changes? You won’t find out, and then you’ll get written up, even though management never mentioned it or brought it up. The pay is terrible for the amount of garbage you have to deal with on a daily basis. There will be sudden changes, there will be A LOT of issues when the change comes, and you will get zero assistance when you have an issue. And with these issues, they will also raise expectations, and if you don’t meet them, you’ll be let go. In fact, it doesn’t matter if your performance is top of the line either. I worked with multiple people who constantly avoided working, which puts more on everybody else on the team. You are disposable, you won’t have great advancement opportunities, and you will be miserable. It will be great for the first month, but after that is when everybody in the company starts to show how little they actually care about you, and the work itself. Please look elsewhere for a better opportunity. Nobody I worked with was happy and everybody absolutely hated clocking in each day. It’s not work, it’s a punishment to work at Chewy. All of the good reviews about Chewy are from people who work there that are too scared to tell the truth in fear of losing their job.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
