Pros

Cool environment (that you’ll never get to enjoy). Freedom to come as you are and free bagels from time to time. Infinite options to keep your customer happy. Training was fun, but don’t be fooled. You’ll be ready for the floor. But the floor is not meant to be enjoyed. It simply can’t be with 60000 eyes watching every move.

Cons

The joke is that you’re being told that the pay rate is a good scale for the type of position. Absolutely not and I was good at my position. But we’re talking about being micro managed like a child by some, not one second of downtime. Literally have to ask mommy to go to the bathroom. And let it be known if it took two minutes to go to the bathroom. Those will be two minutes lost off your break or lunch. It is at minimum at 15 dollar an hour position. MINIMUM!!! You would have to pay me 15per just for the amount of micro management. Scary. I left after about 6 weeks for a position that paid better where I didn’t have to ask to go to the bathroom. Plus I’m way more into face to face customer service. Working at chewy is like performing or acting. And for that you’re gonna have to pay up. Don’t be fooled, you’ll be on the phone, live chat and answering an email. But you’ll be making the same nickels as the guy who’s just good at one of 3. 20 bucks an hour or bust.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
