I left my previous job of five years for Chewy. Biggest mistake of my life. I love working with people and animals so at first I thought this job would be perfect. I was wrong. I finished my week of training with a positive mindset of this company. As I was in training I received a email telling me that bed bugs were found in the building and that chewy was taking every per caution to fix this issue. My job title was “pharmacy customer service” the actually job was easy it was the environment that was horrible. First they placed me in a empty desk far away from the other customer service people (which confused me).Mind you it was my first day out on the floor so I was trying to stay positive. But come to find out they placed me in the area that bed bugs were found the week before. So obviously I wasn’t the one who brought them in) They had this problem before I even got there. Then a few hours in they sent me home and had a pest control come to my house to check my bed. The pest control guy looks at my bed and finds nothing. Then he tells me he found something on my wall that may or may not be a dead bed bug? He showed me a picture and I couldn’t tell it was a bug at all. So he contacted Chewy and told them so they fired me. They told me if I didn’t pay over 1000$ for a treatment I couldn’t return. Mind you I just got this job and I knew for a fact I didn’t have bed bugs so I refused to pay. I then had my apartments pest control company come out and do a second opinion and they didn’t find anything at all. I have never in my life felt so mistreated by a company. Here I am a month later and still don’t have any bites or any sign what so ever of a bed bug. Do not waist your time with this company. From what I researched it’s extremely difficult to get rid of bed bugs in a work environment with so many people. I would never recommend working for these people.
