Pros

There are some good perks, unlimited PTO, ability to bring your dog to the office, as a jr engineer there are tons of opportunity to learn, and flexible work environment.

Cons

I had joined Chewy sometime ago, and the IT culture was amazing. People would have nerf gun battles, ping pong tournaments, Chess games (with a HUGE floor chess board and pieces) to name just a few things. Leadership then changed over with the departure of Ryan and Blake. Uncertain to what was in store in that short time both Ryan and Blake have departed the Chewy culture that was so VERY protected is now no more. Collaboration and what's right for Chewy is no longer and it has turned into a HUGE political posturing show. And unfortunately leadership at the C-level in IT is actually fostering this type of environment. Disappointed as I came over thinking this is for the long haul, as well as thinking I have the ability to be part of something great. Unfortunately that's no longer the case.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
