Pros

The only pros I can see are those that benefit pet owners as you can bring your pet to work with you.

Cons

Never before IN MY LIFE have I been through a training class where you are demoralized, dehumanized, insulted, and told that YOU AND YOUR SKILLS DO NOT MATTER (and that you MUST unlearn these to learn the “Chewy way”) from DAY 1 (and I’ve been through PLENTY of other accelerated trainings that move fast paced yet ENCOURAGE AND FOSTER an actual learning environment). To allow trainers to be SCREAMING AND YELLING to emphasize a point, make the ENTIRE CLASS feel THREATENED, and create one of the most TOXIC AND UNPROFESSIONAL environments I’ve ever been through IN MY LIFE just goes to show that the company, let alone their egotistical, and down right mean and nasty trainers WILL SET YOU UP TO FAIL. You will be broken down and made to feel that if you do not assimilate, that you are worth NOTHING. And then to have an HR rep not even listen to your grievances and act as if they’re too busy distracting themselves with a plastic bottle, it’s a wonder these people haven’t been fired and cleaned out as they’re CLEARLY wasting company profits with CONSTANTLY recruiting and giving tours of the office in groups of 2-3 people on the hour, EVERY HOUR. If you value yourself, your work ethic, and more importantly RESPECTING OTHERS, do yourself a favor and find ANYWHERE ELSE TO WORK, CHEWY WILL DESTROY YOU.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
