Pros

The compensation is good, you really start to pick up when you stack a couple of grants. They are prioritizing lateral moves which are great to help learn more of the business. The company has a lot of initiatives that could turn into huge profits so the future incentive keeps you around. The stock is also currently undervalued so you could turn quick profits. The work life balance is pretty good as well if youre keen on sitting back and just riding out meets expectations performance reviews.

Cons

Previously Chewy was quick to internal promotions and there was room for upward opportunity. Now the company is so bloated with people in management as a result of that that there is NO room to move upward. Since I have been here they have increased span of control requirements, 2 year tenure minimums in role before promotion (which most of the management didn't have), and are continuing layoffs. As a result, the company culture is going downhill, decisions are taking too long to make and going through to many levels. The senior leadership team is consistently changing their opinions on what is important. Many people will be leaving after their February stock vest due to lack of growth.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
