Pros

Pay increases on a regular basis and working from home.

Cons

Chewy pretends to be an empathetic company but they are only empathetic to customers. I worked over a year from home in the pharmacy. During my time at chewy my mother in law was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed within six months, and my mother suffered a severe stroke. To say the year was hard is an understatement. Through it all I continued to have great numbers across my scorecard never any performance issues and show up to work on time. After having 2 days of internet issues, which I had documents from my Internet provider, they fired me. Less then a week from Christmas. When you work at chewy you are required to submit "wows" for the customers, like when they send flowers for a pet passing. I received nothing from chewy with the passing of my mother in law, not a card, no email, not I'm sorry not a word, but they pretend to be empathetic to all. Chewy does not see employees as actual humans but just as numbers. I was fired with no warning after HR decided an outage cause by an Internet upgrade does not count as an outage. I feel anytime the Internet is out for whatever the reason, the service is OUT there for an outage. HR only responds with copy and pasted responses and can not even form an email.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
