Pros

Diverse population, some amazing teachers and families, less case management

Cons

CPS is a toxic place to work if you are a school psychologist. The last few years school psychs have been treated particularly bad. Here are a list of the cons: 1. Heavy caseload- Psychs have left the district en masse. As a result, most are completing 100-200 cases a year with no higher up support. 2. Disorganized management- You will always be asked to attend meetings and do work with very little notice. It's impossible to work there and juggle any kind of family commitment. 3. Poor testing materials- You will have to drive across the city with no gas reimbursement to get appropriate test supplies. You will go without necessary testing for months on end and then blamed for having cases out of compliance. 4. One of the psych managers regularly harasses his employees with no consequences. 5. The worst will always be assumed of you. Despite being an exempt employee, you are required to clock in and out everyday and if you do not do it properly, your pay can be docked.
