Pros

None! Do not work here!!

Cons

I have never experienced a workplace so unprofessional. I was contacted via Scoot to work as a summer substitute teacher for the Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA) through the Child Mind Institute. From the start, the level of disorganization and disrespect was shocking. During training, the links didn’t work, and people were left in the Zoom waiting room for over 30 minutes after the scheduled start time. Nina Denson, the manager, consistently referred to employees as if we were students, making belittling comments like, “This is what students do,” which felt dehumanizing and disrespectful. It came across as a clear power trip. If you value being treated with professionalism and respect, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This experience was extremely disappointing. You are also not allowed to email staff regarding anything. If you email your Scoot Consultant a simple question, they will send an angry email back saying and I quote " DO NOT EMAIL ME". I have never been treated this way by an employer EVER! I am surprised no one has SUED for poor workplace environment.

Pros

Some very smart minds working here

Cons

- Extremely toxic work culture - Senior Leadership have no strategy. They chase good PR to the detriment of the health of their teams. - All power stems from the top. It changes like the wind and is not anchored in the mission or evidence. If you are not kowtowing to the leader, you are let go and without any respect to what you have contributed. This can be seen in the C-suite changing constantly over the past year. - Resource allocation prioritizes senior leadership salaries, which negatively impacts delivery of programs and services. This also illustrates to anybody wanting to invest or fund that it is not a good place for ROI. - Extremely high turnover is a reflection of toxic HR and senior leadership.
