Pros

One free cookie and drink per shift. A decent amount of employees on location to compensate for busy hours. Time off requests were respected if made in advance. Coworkers were pleasant.

Cons

Baking methods were explained to me differently almost every time I was being taught, and the cookies are rather overpriced with said prices raising while I worked there. The cohesiveness and energy of the store was highly dependent on who was in charge of the location. I had a very understanding manager during my first few months, but got a new one in my last month who micromanaged everyone and took the customer's word over the employees' without asking for their side of the story. The only career growth seemed to be becoming a keyholder to location manager, but I was hesitant to attempt growth as my manager seemed worn thin working 8+ hours almost every day and covering nearly every shift. There were many times I was asked to cover shifts, sometimes lengthening a shift of mine to 12 hours which leads me to believe scheduling was not very well managed.

Pros

Chip City has been a great experience so far - lots of opportunity to share new ideas and get things done in a short period of time without the red tape of a large organization. Lots of energy and a great product!

Cons

Priorities can shift often, but this is to be expected in smaller, growing companies that are driving innovation.
