Pros
The guests are awesome and you feel good about working there. Good benefits, salary and growth potential. Not a bad place to start a career.
Cons
I believe I jumped into a complete mess as there is no way a successful company like Chipotle could be run like this system wide. I came from a much higher position at another restaurant company. I only worked at Chipotle for 3 months, but what I saw was absolutely insane. I had three supervisors (I was a GM/AM-IT) and two of them took turns berating me and my restaurant for issues that I had walked into only days/weeks before. It was exactly like buying a home and yelling at my kids for the backyard being messy the same day. The Restauranteur trained me and barely did that, then trashed me in front of others for not knowing the reports and how to gather data (I'm smart, but not a 175 IQ genius... Give me more than 4 weeks to learn recipes, standards, procedures and office reports guys!). The AM was afraid of me for some reason so he took to writing 5,000 word essays on how dirty the floors were and copied as many people as possible (really, what competent Area Manager would do that? Rookie mistakes at that level will hurt an organization long term). I still can't believe the Chipotle everyone raves about is the same company I worked for. The Regional Director was a great person, but unfortunately I reported to the other two. I think. I still don't really know because everyone gave me a different answer, even in front of each other. What a disfunctional team. Even the HR guy didn't know who I reported to. Ugh, it coulda been great.
