Pros

What pros? The only thing that I found enjoyable about this company and the work that I did was my coworkers. Those coworkers mind you all left or are seeking other opportunities due to the negligence and abusive environment.

Cons

Are you ready to read a novel about why you shouldn't work for this company? You are? Good, then let's begin! This company is home to a toxic, abusive and neglectful environment under the management of people who do not understand how to stop digging themselves into their own grave. Managers have no idea what to do, how to do it or why they are doing it. From tribal knowledge only held by one person to no training on anything of value this company is unable to produce any of their products and deliver them to customers in a timely manner. Months and months of back orders go ignored by the staff due to the management not prioritizing or organizing work flow. Abuse, neglect and bigotry are rampant in the company and the hr staff is unqualified and incapable of dealing with any issues that aries. Specific employees and leads abuse their power and create unsafe and extremely dangerous working environments even going as far as removing safety equipment out of spite of their coworkers. I will break down each and every instance of the incompetence, abuse, neglect, hostility, unsafe working conditions and mismanagement I encountered while on the job below. 1. Sexual abuse, discrimination and bigotry On the job I was sexually and gender discriminated against on multiple occasions by several employees and had reported this to management each time. However the ones involved were never punished, removed from the job or reprimanded in any way. From commenting on my appearance to homophobic and discriminatory statements about my gender and identity. 2. Unsafe working conditions Not only will you have to be careful while doing your job due to the nature of the work and the equipment you have to use you will also have to take extra care while you are around one specific person. This person who has continued to be employed for decades is prone to throwing tools, objects and anything else they can get their hands on when in any way upset. This person has nearly every day stomped around in rage swearing and throwing things like a 5 year old who couldn't get ice-cream for dinner. I will repeat this. They will throw a child's temper tantrum and in their rage throw heavy equipment, tools and other objects across the plant whenever they are in a bad mood. They have injured several people while I was employed and has never been removed from the building despite having been reported each and every time it happens. You will be risking your safety each and every time you step foot into the building while this person is on the premises. You have a high chance of getting seriously and potentially life threatening injuries while at work as long as they are employed. This same person will also overload one of the most dangerous machines in the building that mind you is an ammonia fueled furnace and therefore can explode like a bomb potentially killing anyone and everyone in the vicinity. On top of that they went out of their way to forcibly remove safety guards on a dangerous machine that I had worked months on getting put in place out of spite due to their irrational and out of control anger and power hunger. They are unstable and out of control but management refuses to fire or severely punish them despite the multitude of people they have endangered and injured on the job. Now we move on to the lack a personal safety equipment and inhumane environmental control. You will constantly and constantly have to watch your step as to not trip on tools, equipment and products laying on the ground, however you are required to wear steel toed shoes that are not provided by the company unless you are hired on directly. The eye protection is extremely cheap and easy to damage and will need to be replaced often. The gloves will constantly need to be changed due to tearing or becoming extremely dirty and unusable. However that is not the worst thing. You will be working in an unairconditioned building where temperatures can reach into the high 90s or more and if you are the unlucky furnace operator you will not only have to deal with the natural heat during summers but also the 4 gigantic furnaces pushing out temperatures of 1600 to 2050° with no option of putting a fan in the area due to the same person who throws things having a cry baby hissy fit over it. They literally tied the power cable to the only fan in the area on a pole 20 feet up because they didn't like that I turned it on! You will be at serious risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke with no concrete solution due to the petty child who works in the same area. Do not, I repeat DO NOT work at this company if you have any interest in being safe. 3. Mismanagement OH boy if you enjoy coming to work and being utterly confused, frustrated and lost at what you need to do have you found the perfect company to work for. Let's start with the elephant in the room. This company was long been taking on water way before the covid pandemic and shipped slow down. The company has recently announced that they will be shutting down their France plant due to the inability to produce and ship products. This is not because of the pandemic but because of the management not comprehending the concept of stop shipment. They continue to accept orders from customers despite not having the ability or product to build their orders. From not having the specific type of metals for years or not having the trained personnel to produce the order this company will take the customers money and leave them to dry for months upon months. I feel terrible for anyone who orders any products from this company due to it essentially being the equivalent to an nft rug pull. They have no interest in removing products or updating their inventory lists to inform customers of production delays or component shortages. They only care about the short term profits and not the long term customer base that they are swindling out of millions of dollars. Extremely confidential government contracts and design documents are left out in the open in an ever shifting employee base making it a potential issue of national security regarding the interior mechanics of united states war machinery such as aircraft carriers, submarines, Battle ships and more. The night shift lead in particular is an extremely important person to bring up in this conversation as they are the only person in the area who has the tribal knowledge of very specific design details that even the engineers do not know are being changed. They hold back any and all work orders from day shift until they get there and change the vital and important information regarding the design of the product. They refuse to train anyone or inform engineers about these changes creating a vacuum of power that only goes to them. Frequently they would right notes on work orders to hold for his shift and when we would do them because we have a job to do THAT'S WHY WE ARE THERE! they would report us to upper management and accuse us of doing it incorrectly then scrap the order and remake it. In doing this they have essentially stolen hundreds of millions to potentially billions of dollars from the company in lost profits and products as well as customer loyalty. Not to mention their frequently and consistently arriving late to work to avoid the day shift employees. They act and appear to be a former or current meth addict and trust me I would know due to my father being one so their behavior is exactly what a meth addict would be like. Irrational, emotional and paranoid. Despite the fact that I and multiple other employees voicing our concerns about the situation nothing has happened to this person. In fact it got so bad that I, my coworker and the day shift lead all applied for and accepted other jobs within the same week because management is so incompetent and neglectful that they refuse to take action against them due to the tribal knowledge they possess. They fear losing one person who holds information over losing dozens upon dozens upon dozens of employees on a consistent basis continuing the cycle of untrained and unprepared new hires to take the place of the ones they lost. This cycle only leads to more production delays and more wasted money due to improperly built products. Oh let's not forget the hours! That's right say goodbye to any freedom during your work week. You will be told that you work Monday through Thursday 10 hour shifts. However as soon as you start it will change to 48-58 mandatory hours per week Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. They are lying about hours to entice the workforce into applying. This company is a God awful example of modern capitalism where the American people are treated like live stock for the slaughter and not human beings. No wonder why China is out producing the US both in quality and quantity when the company treats its work force this way. Chromalox is not a company that deserves its customer base or their employees. Good people are being used and thrown into the trash without a care from the ceo or management all for a quick payday. This company is worse than a pimp who beats his hoes because at least when they get screwed they might be able to orgasm from it. Do not work for this company ever. You would be better off at McDonald's where they pay 3x more than here.

Pros

Just a little over 100 employees, so scheduling is high flexible including PTO (depending on your manager). No micromanagement, so you get to work freely and at your own pace.

Cons

Lack of accountability. If you find something wrong/broken you'll be expected to fix it because no one else will. Hard workers are rewarded with additional work- and there is always plenty of that because there are no consequences to those that don't work or do the right thing. Management is totally out of touch with floor employees, nor care about what's going on until its the end of the month and THEIR bonuses are on the line. No advancement unless someone in a higher position quits or gets fired. Problematic employees are not corrected. Management lets issues continue until someone leaves on their own will. NO real incentive to work here. It's a dead end job, but good for those new to the workforce and those returning after a long break. Acrrue only 10 hours of PTO per month.
