Pros
- Great social environment. The nature of the work encourages interaction with the other employees and makes it easy to make friends and form ties to the work place. - Hours work quite well with school and are very flexible. - Basic training and experience in various different areas - cashier, food handling, customer service, and deep cleaning. - Management for the most part treats their staff with respect and rewards those who do a good job with hours. - Good customer service practices. - Free movies - Free popcorn and drinks (but only while working)
Cons
- Cost-cutting measures are obvious. Raises are minimal - 15c at best - and the cap is low. Recently implemented employee discounts for concessions is a good start, but only while working. There is no reason why they shouldn't apply while off-the-clock. - No overtime pay or benefits. - No desire to advance to management positions. Must become a Senior Assistant Manager to receive any desirable benefits or significant pay raise. - Archaic rules forcing employees to refer to managers as "Mr." or "Mrs.", and forbidding them from any social interaction with the staff members outside of work.
