Highly disorganized, little opportunity for growth, poor compensation - Territory Account Representative Cintas Employee Review

Pros

Management is completely flexible with time off. Management does seem to be sincerely interested in your success. Close knit environment, great opportunity to network, meet friends, etc.

Cons

Many people in management seem to lack the basic qualifications for their position and subsequently come across as being in over their head. Sales structure is such that you are often competing with Cintas coworkers to get the sale - i.e., I may offer the customer one price and then a Cintas driver or local sales guy may come in and undercut me. Antiquated systems - much of the sales CMS and admin functions are driven by a series of Excel spreadsheets. Compensation and benefits (401k match!) are very poor. If you're not management, you are on a need-to-know basis and you are treated as such.

Pros

Interview process was night and day compared to prior location I had interviewed with. Great benefits, solid support, and an awesome culture. Leadership leads by example, setting the tone from the top (GM). Can't speak for other location, but I was fortunate to land at one of the best. No micromanagement! Professionalism and integrity are a must. Constant promotions.

Cons

No real downsides except for the Florida heat, with only a bit of corporate politics but nothing too crazy.

Pros

The Commission is great. You can make good money in this place.

Cons

While the pay is good, the culture here is not. It is incredibly restrictive. It is very much a “Do what I want you to do, how I want you to do it, and when I want you to do it” management style. They constantly remind you of how much money you can make there which gets annoying after a while. The service team and the sales team are constantly at odds. Not just Cintas, but the industry in general is very sleazy, much like a car dealership. They screw over their smaller customers with enormous year over year price increases. I know a particular salesperson who is having a lot of success their who has no problem lying to his customers, and never answering their calls when the problems come. As long as he keeps the deals coming Cintas does not care. Corporate greed is on full display at Cintas. The Management Development program for college graduates seems like a great opportunity. If you are a young college graduate and you get the opportunity, I would recommend that.
