Pros

The job was remote, so at least I didn't need to drag myself into an office. Quick interview process, although the time from application to interview was about 5 weeks, so I kinda forgot I applied by the time HR called to set an initial interview. But once they were set, all interviews were within a week, with an offer shortly after that. I thankfully didn't use the insurance much, but the premiums were reasonable.

Cons

Job was not as advertised. Ended up being a support role, which absolutely was not mentioned at any point in the 4 interviews conducted. Thoughts of individual contributors were not valued, attempting to suggest an idea was seen as 'solutioning', mid level management was extremely patronizing ("oh, you've come such a long way" - gag me with a spoon. I've been doing this job role for years at Fortune companies, with a high degree of success operating to established industry standards.) Legacy tech in place, with gaslighting from long time employees "that's never worked like that" - um, I've got a dozen emails from your colleague who designed the process that say the exact opposite. Pay was low, it was 20k lower than my previous role, but as I was unemployed, did not have a choice. Needed to start working again, because unemployment is 10% of what I was previously making. Unlimited PTO. You might think this is a Pro. It is not. Not a pro when you're not able to take time off because someone else is abusing the unlimited policy. 401k match could be way better. It is 50%, and previous employers all matched at 100%.
